AFC Leopards to Sign Eight New Players
The 2017 Gotv shield winners, AFC leopards have revealed their transfer plan ahead of the 2018 football season.
The club which is to take part in domestic and the Caf Confederation cup has reveled through their organizing secretary that it will be signing in eight new players.
Ingwe capped a moderately underwhelming season by overcoming Kariobangi Sharks to win the Gotv Shield in the final competition staged at Moi Kasarani Stadium.
The team then finished in the eighth position in league with 45 points and coach Robert Matano is keen on reinforcing his unit ahead of next season’s campaign.
Club organizing secretary Timothy Lilumbi has reported that the club will sign eight players once the December to January transfer window opens in a week’s time.
The club will bring on board:
- a left-back,
- a goalkeeper,
- two strikers,
- a winger,
- a ‘utility’ defender and
- two midfielders.
The team is also presumed to part ways with about a similar number of players while some youths in the team will be lent out to other clubs in search of more playing time.
Previously midfielder Keziron Kizito has moved to Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters.
The team will play some prominent high profile friendly matches in preparation for next year with coach Matano planned to have a fully prepared squad ahead of the new season.
